The Gilded Wolves (2019)

In an enchanted 1889 Paris, Séverin recruits experts to obtain an artefact that may restore his inheritance. Engineering, history and other kinds of knowledge make the group useful in different ways, while their attachments complicate the bargain. Choose it for puzzles and a richly decorated setting with the team close to the centre. This young-adult trilogy opener also asks whose past is preserved, displayed or stolen; romance and historical wounds run alongside the caper.
