Waking Ned (1998)
Movie

An Irish village's lottery scheme runs on affectionate opportunism, communal plotting and wonderfully unembarrassed physical comedy. The premise starts with a death, but the tone is mischievous rather than mournful. For an evening that needs a laugh, its elderly conspirators offer the pleasure of watching ordinary people enjoy being a little outrageous together.
