Jade City (2017)

Janloon is an invented modern capital, with its own commercial districts, clan loyalties and changing economy. The Kaul family’s access to magical jade means that protection, business and violence travel along the same streets. Lee draws on several real-world influences without making the city a disguised copy of one place. First in the Green Bone Saga trilogy, with a larger political scale than most detective-led urban fantasy.
