The Bartimaeus Trilogy Boxed Set (A Bartimaeus Novel) (2006)

Three novels: The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem’s Eye and Ptolemy’s Gate. A sarcastic djinni’s account meets a young magician’s ambition and a human resistance to magical rule. The final book makes the earlier arguments about service and power matter personally. Written for younger readers but sharp enough for adults, it combines comic footnotes with genuine cruelty. The Ring of Solomon is an optional prequel after the completed London trilogy.
