The Dreamblood Duology (2016)

Two novels: The Killing Moon and The Shadowed Sun. Priests who work through dreams become entangled in political violence, then the second book examines the changed society through a different central perspective. Reading both gives the larger argument room to develop instead of treating the first resolution as the entire story. A shorter commitment with substantial worldbuilding, though trauma and sexual violence make the second volume especially difficult.
