The Smashing Machine (2025)
Movie
Released
Dwayne Johnson's Mark Kerr has physical size without the reassuring command associated with much of his action-star work. The 2025 performance uses fatigue, soft speech and unstable dependence to complicate that expectation. Benny Safdie's biographical drama is a constructed portrait, and the acting's interest lies in vulnerability rather than a simple declaration that Johnson has become serious.
