Spear (2022)

Peretur leaves an isolated childhood to discover what she can do and where she might belong. Griffith gives the Arthurian quest a queer woman at its centre, with desire, horsemanship and encounters with the uncanny woven into its movement through the landscape. A short adult fantasy with sensuous romance and real combat, rather than a cosy idyll. Its joy comes from letting the hero seek connection and a future of her own.
