The Luminous Dead (2019)

Gyre enters a cave inside equipment that keeps her alive while giving her distant handler alarming control over her body. Drugs, withheld information and the pressure of her contract make dependence increasingly difficult to separate from captivity. Starling narrows the story to two women's fraught relationship and an environment from which neither reassurance nor a quick exit is available. Choose it for claustrophobic science-fiction horror about a body whose support systems can also become a leash.
