Ancillary Justice (2013)

Breq once experienced the world through a warship and many human bodies; now she has only one. Leckie makes that contraction a matter of perception, grief and capability, while the empire's appropriation of bodies remains a crime beneath its everyday manners. Choose it for a demanding space opera about personhood after enforced use. The narrative moves between periods and requires attention. Ancillary Sword and Ancillary Mercy complete the central trilogy.
