The dazzle of day (1997)

Gloss follows the everyday life of a Quaker community travelling towards another world. Work, ageing, illness, intimacy and disagreement make the voyage feel like a place people actually inhabit, rather than an interval between launch and landing. The decision about what kind of home to accept has consequences for people who never chose the original departure. Choose it for quiet social observation, practical detail and a slower pace that gives ordinary lives their weight.
