Waves (2011)

A clean circular arena keeps attention on the gap you can make between approaching enemies. Combo building, well-timed bombs and the Time Buffer give movement a scoring purpose beyond staying alive. Choose the original Squid In A Box game, now free on PC, rather than one of the unrelated titles sharing its name. Its timed modes suit a limited session; longer survival modes are another commitment. Neon effects grow busy as chains build, but the central spatial problem stays compact.
