Nex Machina (2017)

Moving, aiming and dashing are separate decisions as you sweep a small arena, rescue humans and clear the machines blocking the next space. Its connected stages make movement purposeful: survival alone can leave useful rescues and routes behind. The PC game supports twin-stick or mouse-and-keyboard play. Individual encounters are brisk, but an arcade run links many of them. Voxel explosions can briefly fill the view, so learn to track the player and incoming shots through the spectacle.
