Super Stardust Ultra (2015)

A planet is the arena: fly around its curved surface, switch weapons for different material types and cut a passage through the falling debris. The loop of movement and aiming feels different from defending a fixed corner on a flat screen. This recommendation is the standard flat-screen PS4 game, played with a controller, rather than its separate VR perspective. The far side of the sphere and the expanding debris demand active scanning, even when the immediate route looks clear.
