Heiliges Feuer (1996)

Bruce Sterling’s Holy Fire follows Mia Ziemann, a woman in her nineties who undergoes treatment that gives her a much younger body and mind. Encountering a new generation tests what, if anything, carries over from her long life. This is the list’s deliberate rejuvenation case: choose it to question the promise of becoming young again. Expect ideas about art, power and identity more than a brisk plot.
