Anna's Quest (2015)

Anna's telekinesis lets an apparently vulnerable fairy-tale child interfere with the machinery of her captivity. The contrast between her good intentions and the world's witches, torture devices and bad bargains gives the humour a dark edge. Powers and ordinary inventory objects work together, so the magic participates in the puzzle chains. It is a standalone story for readers who like a little cruelty in their fairy tales, with occasional obscure combinations worth taking a hint over.
