The Book of Unwritten Tales (2009)

An aspiring gnome hero, an elf princess and a less dependable adventurer make the great quest feel like a job given to people with incompatible qualifications. Their different skills feed the puzzles, while vegetarian dragons and argumentative creatures give familiar fantasy shapes new social problems. Start with this first game for the cast's introduction. It offers a substantial, fairly welcoming inventory adventure, although recognising a reference is only part of the pleasure.
