A strong choice when you need an explanation of movement, rather than another instruction to dodge better. Its tutorials introduce genre fundamentals, and its lock-on weapons let you attack while choosing a safer position. Look for aimed fire you can lead away from a route, then move deliberately instead of circling the screen. Mild is the sensible first difficulty, but still asks you to learn. Standard's checkpoints and shop offer a different kind of progress from an Arcade single-credit clear.
