Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax (2015)

Up to four local pilots can combine distinct mechs, such as a shield-bearing Black Bear protecting a ranged teammate. Weapons and upgrades give both players something to shape, rather than handing one person a permanently weaker companion. The PC version lets you adjust health, shields, enemy fire and hitbox settings; leave friendly fire off for the first session. Agree on a readable ruleset before the campaign. A full team fills the screen with effects, so two players can be a better introduction than immediately filling every seat.
