Night Without End (1960)

A plane crash leaves passengers dependent on a small scientific party on the Greenland ice cap. The immediate work of keeping people alive is complicated by suspicion within the group. MacLean makes exposure and limited supplies the framework for an old-fashioned adventure thriller. Its period equipment and brisk, sometimes dated characterisation are part of the package; the cold remains a problem nobody can simply argue away.
