Meg designs hand-lettered journals and leaves an ill-advised message in a wedding programme; Reid is the man who notices it. Their developing connection finds room in walks through New York and in the different patterns they see around them. The pleasure is in watching attention become affection. Creative frustration and problems beyond the romance give their conversations substance, with some open-door intimacy later.
