The Wall of Winnipeg and Me (2016)

Vanessa quits her thankless job as an American football star’s assistant, forcing Aiden to ask for something rather than assume she will provide it. Their new arrangement leaves room for the everyday work of becoming reliable company. This is a very long build with a late physical payoff. Its appeal lies in changes to behaviour; readers need patience with Aiden’s initial coldness and the former employer-employee imbalance.
