Two local players can tackle the same nine-stage campaign and learn its multi-phase bosses together. Start with the lower difficulty: the higher settings also make bosses more demanding, rather than merely changing a label. Identifiable character skins help siblings keep track of themselves during the busy attacks. Choose it for a pair who already enjoy Contra-style movement and shooting; its gruesome body-horror enemies make this a more specific game-night choice than its colourful pixels suggest.
