Contra (1988)

The NES version uses compact sprites, simple projectile shapes and large stretches of dark background to make its shooting lanes easy to study. Select Contra (NA) inside Contra Anniversary Collection for this particular version. Its forward-facing base stages also reduce the problem to a clear set of targets and incoming shots. A single hit is lethal and the game gives little time to hesitate, so use repeated short attempts to learn enemy entrances rather than expecting the clean picture to make every encounter easy.
