Clear round shots, bright energy weapons and dark backgrounds help the active threats stand apart from the grotesque scenery. Start on Easy: higher difficulties also complicate the multi-phase bosses. Keep the optional CRT filter off for a sharper view, and choose a character skin you can identify quickly before trying co-op. The later stages remain visually dense and very bloody, so this is a choice for someone comfortable tracking a small soldier through body-horror set pieces, with practice between attempts.
