Stella's struggling Christmas-tree farm needs publicity, and an invented romance with her best friend Luka seems an efficient way to win it. The appeal is how naturally he already fits into her life: help, visits and comfort do not begin with the pretence. Their problem is learning to ask for something less safely defined than friendship.
