Baduizm (1997)

Erykah Badu's debut gives a clear impression of a singer who controls her own musical temperature. On & On moves easily through its groove, with phrasing that can sound playful, measured and questioning in a few lines. The album's consistent warmth makes it inviting, while the rhythmic details prevent that ease from becoming bland.
