Luca Toni

Toni's Verona years offer a second late-career story within an already distinguished career. After joining at 36, he scored 20 league goals in his first season and 22 in his second, sharing the 2014/15 Serie A scoring title at 38. He had won the European Golden Shoe much earlier, but this was no nostalgia contract: Verona's attack still worked through his positioning, hold-up play and penalty-area finishing.
