Rickie Lambert

Lambert did not play Premier League football until he was 30. His first two seasons at that level brought 15 and 13 league goals for Southampton, with an England debut at 31 between those campaigns. The ascent from the lower divisions depended on more than heading: his touch, passing and ability to bring runners into play travelled with him when the opposition improved.
