Andy introduces his toys to Bonnie and joins one more game, allowing familiar personalities to become part of a handover rather than a checklist of references. Woody's established loyalty has to make room for someone else's future. The pleasure of recognising every toy therefore supports an ending about letting go of possession while preserving affection. This closes Andy's central chapter, even though later films continue the series.

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy's toys haven't been played with in years. With Andy about to go to college, the gang find themselves accidentally left at a nefarious day care center. The toys must band together to escape and return home to Andy.
