Sue Lopez

Southampton's repeated cup success gave Lopez a substantial playing record, but her contribution continued through coaching, organising and writing about the game's history. A spell with Roma in 1971 also offered a rare overseas route for an English player. She is especially useful for understanding the work between celebrated matches: establishing teams and preserving knowledge for those who followed.
