Pia Sundhage

Sundhage helped Sweden win the first UEFA women's European competition in 1984, scoring in the final's first leg and converting the decisive shoot-out penalty. She later became an Olympic-winning national-team coach. Following both halves of that career shows how early internationals carried technical knowledge into the institutions that trained the next generation.
