The Boxtrolls (2014)
Movie
Released
Fish and the other underground scavengers make a home for Eggs while the town above imagines them as child-eating monsters. Their fussy habits, mechanical ingenuity and affectionate care do the work of disproving that story. LAIKA gives the creatures enough individual physical business to feel like a community rather than a row of mascots. Root for them as a scruffy household under threat, with grotesque comedy and some intense peril alongside the handmade charm.
