Meg's hand-lettering work brings her into contact with Reid, who notices a message she should not have hidden in a wedding programme. Their walks through New York turn looking closely into a form of courtship. An appealing choice for readers drawn to craft, creative frustration and conversations that gradually become intimate. There is on-page sex, but getting to know each other does much of the romantic work.
