You can test a plan before committing, but must still anticipate the defence rather than react after seeing it start. The solo leagues and AI teams provide a practical route into the rules without depending on finding a human opponent. Choose it for the same pleasure of coordinated orders with a different objective from eliminating a squad. It rewards thinking about the next position, not simply selecting the nearest available pass.
