Death On A Galician Shore (2011)
Book
Published
Leo Caldas is sent from Vigo to assess a fisherman's apparent suicide. What looks routine becomes a patient inquiry into a community whose memories are not easily offered to outsiders. Sonia Soto's translation gives the coastal case room to develop through conversation and hesitation. Choose this for a slower procedural in which understanding how a question is received matters alongside asking it. Caldas already has a previous novel, Water-blue Eyes.
