Ashley, forty-six, is trying to keep her family ski hill afloat; Madigan runs a sober-living home and has a complicated former life in music. Their attraction grows around work, lessons and the people depending on them. Expect explicit sex alongside addiction recovery, divorce and bereavement. This is a younger midlife heroine with substantial responsibilities, and the optimism comes from making space for pleasure while doing the difficult work.
