Lips Like Sugar (2024)

A bakery owner around fifty asks an ageing punk drummer to play her boyfriend for a wedding. The arrangement is funny, but a teenage son, an older parent needing care and lives in different cities make continuing the connection harder. The sex is explicit, and cognitive impairment and addiction affect the surrounding story. A good choice for readers who want desire to survive practical obligations, not erase them.
