The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025)
Movie
Released
A lottery winner arranges a private reunion for a folk duo whose personal history has not become simple with age. The island setting and awkward hospitality give the conversation a gentle rhythm, while the songs ask whether nostalgia keeps people company or prevents them moving on. This 2025 choice is funny and wistful, with bereavement underneath.
