A schoolboy forms a band partly to impress a girl, then discovers that invention can become a way through family and school pressure. Compare the identities the teenagers borrow with the ones they begin to earn. The songs keep it buoyant, but bullying and a fracturing home make it more emotionally textured than an uncomplicated nostalgia exercise.
