Technique (1989)

New Order let bright dance rhythms rub against guitar-based songs and Bernard Sumner's unpolished singing. Run is an inviting first track to try for its easy melodic movement; Dream Attack brings a more expansive close. The tunes have a casual, slightly vulnerable character that keeps the sleek surfaces from feeling impersonal.
