Begin with the base game's four operations around the Mius River and Saur-Mogila in summer 1943. An operational layer determines where worn formations can move, resupply and recover before battles unfold in real time. The developer describes the maps as built from historical topographic and photographic material, making terrain a useful subject of study alongside the combat rules. The interface and command model take serious learning, so read the manual and start small. Its many additional operations are paid content; they are not all included in the original purchase.
