Local Hero (1983)
Movie
Released
An American oil representative reaches a Scottish village and finds the rhythms of the place harder to leave than the business problem is to solve. Quiet jokes, coastal light and an extraordinary telephone-box afterimage make it a natural slow-Sunday film. Its charm leaves room for uncertainty about what outsiders think they can buy.
