Within the Realm of a Dying Sun (1987)

Dead Can Dance give Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard's contrasting voices a setting of orchestral weight, percussion and solemn space. Cantara introduces Gerrard's striking vocal world. It can feel ceremonial and dramatic, with the arrangements creating a scale far beyond the intimacy of a conventional singer-and-band record.
