The Magic Place (2011)

What first sounds like a distant choir grows largely from Julianna Barwick's layered voice. The title track is a gentle point of entry into overlapping harmonies whose edges keep moving. Listen for how a human breath or small phrase can become an entire space, even when the music offers few conventional lyrics or hooks.
