Battle Royal (2021)

Sylvie and Dominic disagree about cake because they genuinely value different things in their work. A baking competition and royal commission make the setting extravagant, but their professional knowledge gives the sparring a clear shape. The sweeter pleasure is the change in how they attend to one another. On-page sex and grief sit beneath the glitter: choose it for comic opposites with recognisable convictions, rather than pure verbal hostility.
