A robot learning to care for a gosling makes parenthood visible as repeated, imperfect work rather than an instinct somebody either has or lacks. The changing island community adds a second pleasure for adults. The painted-looking animation is beautiful, but predators, death, wildfire and action make this an emotional adventure rather than a gentle nursery film.

After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.
