Only the climber's arms are under your control, so each safe grip has to become a platform for the next pull or swing. Mouse control is the central idea, with gamepad support also available. The route is a deliberate physics obstacle course rather than a simulation of using your feet on rock, and a bad release can send you a long way down. Choose it if practising an awkward movement until it becomes reliable is the attraction. The free second chapter adds another substantial ascent, not a gentler alternative to the original.
