Paris Can Wait (2016)
Movie
Released
What should be a direct drive from Cannes to Paris becomes an extended series of meals, sights and conversational detours. Diane Lane's Anne gradually has more space to notice her own appetite for attention and experience. Eleanor Coppola's film is the gentle, indulgent choice: the unhurried rhythm is the point, though its comfort and expense are plainly a fantasy. Come for a change of pace rather than a practical route or a promise that every inconvenient companion is secretly ideal.
