Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's fictional selves turn a restaurant assignment in northern England into a moving contest of impressions, status and insecurity. The roads between meals allow the comedy to shade into loneliness without making a grand announcement. Choose the feature film, first shown in 2010, for the pleasure of familiar company proving both comforting and exhausting. The dining is aspirational, but the emotional journey is recognisably the one that happens when somebody knows exactly how to irritate you.

When Steve Coogan is asked by The Observer to tour the country's finest restaurants, he envisions it as the perfect getaway with his beautiful girlfriend. But, when she backs out on him, he has no one to accompany him but his best friend and source of eternal aggravation, Rob Brydon.
