Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989)

A scientist's grief becomes entangled with experiments using Godzilla cells, giving the new creature a painfully personal origin. Espionage and biotechnology make the plotting unusually busy, but that collision of loss and ambition gives the monster imagery its charge. Choose it when you want the series at its strangest.
